About Gary M. Strangis

Gary M. Strangis is a two-time Emmy winning Producer for the acclaimed ABC television series "The Practice." He has shared wins with his producing teams for the Golden Globe Award, the Producers Guild of America Norman Felton Award, the George Foster Peabody Award, the Humanitas Award, and been nominated for countless other honors from such groups as the Directors Guild of America. He was profiled in the book, "Surviving Hollywood: Your Ticket to Success."

Gary has successfully researched, budgeted, and produced projects ranging from $2.4M each to over $55M, taking them from concept through final delivery. In 1999, he oversaw the relocation of David E. Kelley Productions and two ongoing television series into the new Manhattan Beach Studios complex, becoming that studio's initial anchor tenant. He has personally negotiated labor union contracts, cast, staff and crew deals, and worked with numerous local, state and government agencies to facilitate filmmaking.

Gary's initial background is as a Director's Guild of America Assistant Director and Production Manager. His focus varies from budgeting and advance work to feasibility studies, production support and logistics.

A twenty-three year member of the Directors Guild of America, Gary also holds memberships in the Academy Of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS) as well as the Producers Guild of America. He has filmed throughout much of the Continental United States, Canada and the Caribbean. His Producing credits include over one hundred episodes of "The Practice," and the series pilots for "Ally McBeal," Summerland," "RHD/LA," and "Lincoln Heights." Most recently, he produced two Louisiana-based telefilms - "Faith of My Fathers" and "Not Like Everyone Else."

Gary supervises TurnKey|Louisiana's Production and Louisiana-based operations firsthand from an office in Shreveport, Louisiana.
